Taste of Downtown

What a great time this evening at the annual Taste of Downtown food event. It was great to see the streets busy with people tasting away. Taste of Downtown is an annual event put on by the Silver City Mainstreet project. Over 15 downtown restaurants participated in the event. I was surprised that we had that many restaurants downtown, I didn't think we had that many........ Richard

Grasshopper Plague............................

There back.... There has been another grasshopper population explosion in Southwest New Mexico. In 2008 there was similar situation, but we are not sure how they compare. I think that it is at least as much as 2008. The grasshoppers are literally covering the ground in some areas. I am unsure what factors comtribute to the explosion, we have had a lot of rain during this monsoon season. Its entertaining to see all of them, but its also kind of disgusting to see the live ones eating the dead ones. There are grasshopper guts every where. YUCK!!!

Terri and Wayne get Married at Gallery 400

Weddings are always a special time at the Gallery. I must admit that they are my very favorite thing. As far as a culture, we have very little tradition and ritual. Weddings are one of the few rituals that we partake in and revere. No wedding goes off without last minute adjustments, but that's what makes it exciting.
