Fort Bayard Days 2011. Also September 16. History comes alive at Ft. Bayard as the ways of life from 1866 to the 1940’s through Indian Wars and the Hospital Days are demonstrated.
10 am – Historians demonstrate life at the Fort.
11 am – Gary Daniels presents “Confederates in SW New Mexico”, New Deal Theater.
1 pm – Sheriff Don Bullis presents “Law and Order in Territorial New Mexico”, New Deal Theater.
7 pm – Military Ball. Come dressed in 1800s costume or just come! All ages.

Sit, Sip, & Shop! The Yankie-Texas Art District is closing off the 1st block of Yankie to cars, between Bullard and Texas Streets. Chairs, tables, and umbrellas provided for folks to enjoy coffee & goodies while lingering in the Art District. 8 am to 6 pm, every Saturday until November.
