    Meditation for Everyone. 5:30 - 6:15 pm, Billy Casper Wellness Center education rooms. Led by Jeff Goin and consisting of 25 minutes of guided meditation and 20 minutes of discussion on methods for reducing stress.  Nondenominational.  Every Tuesday, free and open to the public.

    RIP Mexicano-Chicano Studies?  6:30 pm,WNMU Miller Library.  Panel discussion re Tucson Unified School District’s eliminating Mexican American Studies and banning of books by Chicano, African American, and Native writers.  Moderated by Dr Gilda Ortego y Gasca; with Dr Margarita Wulftange, Chair, WNMU Chicano/a and Hemispheric Studies; Dr Felipe Ortego y Gasca, WNMU Scholar in Residence; Tom Hester, SW Festival of the Written Word, Peter Garcia, Native/Chicano organizer, poet, artist.  All welcome. 
    Mardi Gras New Moon Star Party. 6:30-10:30 pm.  Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument.With clear skies, we'll identify constellations and asterisms, look at passing planets, and search for a few deep sky objects. If it's cloudy, we'll have an indoor program on the Aurora Borealis of the World. Please check in at the Visitor's Center Bookstore and approach the parking area with only parking lights on your car. Bring a red light flashlight and dress warmly as it will be chilly. Refreshments provided at the Bookstore and Museum. Free and open to public.  In cooperation with the Silver City Astronomical Society.    
   FAT TUESDAY. 6:30 - 9 pm, Diane’s Parlor. Music by Bayou Seco, beads, gumbo and lots more.
