Well, Its been a while since I've posted.. I've been in Mexico for the last few days. There has been lots of fire activity to the west of us. We have had some slightly smoky days.. but because winds generally run from East to West the smoke usually is whisked away to the West.
Predictions are for Scattered showers Thursday through the end of the week...

REGISTRATION: Stand Up and Step In, the bullying prevention day camp for kids ages 11-14, July 22-26, M-F, 8:30 to noon, at the Unitarian Fellowship. Through mask making, dance, slam poetry, mural painting, and more, this day camp teaches kids to stand up for themselves in non-violent ways and empowers them to become allies of those who are targeted by bullies. $35 per child for the week; scholarships available.  Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance. 11 a.m. to noon. Parking lot by the Big Ditch, between 7th and 8th streets.  Based on traditional Tai Chi, this program works for all people. Substance Abuse Focus Group (Middle School youth and parents). 5 p.m. WNMU Global Resource Center. We want to learn about Youth Substance Abuse in Grant County. Your input will be used to establish priorities and strategies to reduce youth substance abuse. Will be approximately one-hour in length and limited to 10 people. Youth and parents will meet separately. All participants will be compensated for their time, and a meal will be served. Contact Tiffany 575-388-1198 for more information and to sign up!
Forgive . . . and Move Forward. 5:30 – 6:15 p.m. the Billy Casper Wellness Center education rooms. Free and open to the public (both BCWC members and non-members). Drop-ins are welcome –attend one, some, or all four classes.

A quiet reflective Service of Vespers in the Celtic tradition.  5:30 p.m. Good Shepherd Episcopal Church [Texas & 7th, Silver City entrance off parking lot off 6th].   Remembrance of modern "saints" of all faiths. Bring a little something if you can to share for a Potluck dinner following.
