  • WNMU Adult Education Services Open House. 9am - 1pm. WNMU Watts Hall. The event will showcase information offered to the community at no cost including basic skills classes in English, reading and writing and preparation for the High School Equivalency Exam. There will also be family friendly games and prizes.
  • Craft Class: Clay Pinch Pots. 10 am- 12 noon at the Silver City Museum, 312 W. Broadway. For crafters aged 8 and older, $5 Class is limited to 8 participants. Pre-registration encouraged. www.silvercitymuseum.org
  • The Commons- Grand Opening. 1 – 4 p.m. 501 E. 13th St. The Volunteer Center opens the Commons Center for Food Security and sustainability. Located on .75 acres the food pantry, greenhouse, garden and commercial kitchen are the foundation of the Volunteer’s Center future efforts to ensure access to healthy, nutritious food for everyone. 388-2988.
  • "Salt of the Earth," starring Rosaura Revueltas and Juan Chacon. 6:00 p.m. Silco Theater, 311 N. Bullard St. Silver City. Doors open at 5:30. "Salt of the Earth" is the first in a three film series, "The Way It Was", organized to benefit the Silco Theater renovations which will begin in August. Tickets are $15.
