    “Fostering Children in Grant County.” 10am, Unitarian Fellowship, 3845 N Swan St. Presentation by Richard 'Andy' Anderson, MSW, of NM's Children, Youth & Families Dept, who will speak of abuse, neglect, CYFD services, and the opportunity to bring safety and love to a child.  Childcare provided.  Light refreshments served after service. 538-0101.
     Autumn Sunday Rock Climbing Community Class.  10 am-5pm, Penny Park Wall.  An introduction to the activity of rock climbing. Participants will learn about equipment, safety systems, movement on the rock,  meet other locals inspired to climb and  visit a number of Grant County’s climbing areas.  No experience necessary.     Basic Sushi.  Curious Kumquat, 111 E College Ave.  Participants will learn how to make perfect sushi rice, prepare the fillings and roll maki sushi. California rolls, veggie rolls, Philadelphia rolls, and spicy tuna will be prepared. All participants will leave with a full sushi dinner. Advanced registration required; 5340337.
    Hi Lo Silvers Fall Concert. 3 pm, First Presbyterian Church, 1915 N Swan St. In addition to old favorites and songs from Broadway and film, the concerts will include the traditional spirituals “Dry Bones”, “Good News”, and “Wade in the Water.”  Free; open to public.
